Key Active Ingredients

According to product profiles on medical distribution platforms the balanced formula targets discoloration through multiple pathways: []

- Hydroquinone (2%): A potent skin-lightening agent that decreases the formation of melanin.
- Kojic Acid (2%): Derived from fungi, it blocks tyrosine production to fade sun damage and scars.
- Glycolic Acid (2%): An alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) that gently exfoliates dead skin surface cells.
- Licorice Extract (1%): A natural anti-inflammatory ingredient that diffuses pigment clusters.
- Arbutin (1%): A bearberry derivative that helps uniform skin luminosity.
- Lactic Acid (0.2%): Enhances hydration while supporting texturizing exfoliation.

Primary Uses

- Fading Melasma: Targets deep, patchy hormonal skin discolouration.
- Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation: Heals dark blemishes left behind by acne breakouts.
- Sun Spots & Freckles: Reverses ultraviolet radiation damage and age spots.

How to Apply

1. Wash your face using a gentle cleanser and pat completely dry.
2. Apply a thin layer strictly onto the affected dark patches.
3. Use once daily at night unless directed otherwise by a doctor.
4. Sunscreen is mandatory: Because melanin production is inhibited, your skin becomes hyper-sensitive to UV damage. Apply a broad-spectrum SPF daily.

Potential Side Effects

While highly effective, formulations containing Hydroquinone and Kojic Acid can cause mild to moderate skin reactions:

- Contact Dermatitis: Mild redness, swelling, burning, or tingling upon application.
- Skin Dryness: Flaking or peeling due to the active exfoliating acids.
- Increased Photosensitivity: Prone to immediate sunburn if left unprotected in sunlight.

Disclaimer: Due to the presence of Hydroquinone, Kozi-Q should not be used continuously for long periods without consulting a dermatologist to prevent adverse effects like ochronosis.
